Installing and Preparing Your Robotic Lawnmower – A Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome to the world of robotic lawnmowers! You have decided to have more free time and a lawn that is always well-maintained. Careful preparation and installation is essential so that you can put your robotic lawnmower into operation smoothly. In this blog entry we will show you step by step how to get your robotic lawnmower ready for use in no time.

Preparation: Planning is the key to success

Before you start using your robotic lawnmower, you should make some basic preparations. Here's what you should keep in mind:

1. Create a garden sketch

A sketch of your garden is the starting point for a successful installation. Draw your garden, mark obstacles such as trees, flowerbeds, paths and borders. This will help you place the charging station and lay the boundary wire.

2. Gather the necessary tools

Make sure you have all the necessary tools handy, including a hammer, wire cutters, pliers, or scissors.

3. Lawn care before installation

Before you start using your robotic lawnmower, your lawn should be cut to a maximum height of 45 mm or less.

Installation Guide:

4. Limitation of the mowing area

Your robotic lawnmower is equipped with collision sensors to detect obstacles. Lay the boundary wire to protect obstacles and the device. Make sure that the robotic lawnmower is never more than 20 m away from the boundary wire.

5. Treatment of trees and stones

Trees with exposed roots less than 10 cm high must be fenced off to avoid damage to the blades and rear wheels. Remove small stones and boulders to protect the robotic lawnmower from damage.

6. Consideration of the terrain conditions

Make sure that the boundary wire is not laid at right angles to slopes of more than 10%. Also keep a sufficient distance from paths and roads.

7. Setting up the charging station

Position the charging station in a shady location a safe distance from ponds, pools or steps. If the ground is soft, use a lawn guard to protect the lawn.

8. Laying the boundary wire

Lay the boundary wire 30cm away from obstacles and use the included ruler to ensure the correct distance.

9. Delineate flowerbeds, pools and ponds

Use the boundary wire to separate flower beds, pools and ponds from the mowing area. Make sure the robotic lawnmower avoids these areas safely.

10. Monitoring and test running

Complete the installation by connecting the charging station to the power outlet. Place the robotic lawnmower a few meters away from the charging station and start it. Check that it recognizes the boundary wire correctly and returns to the charging station.

With these steps you should be able to install and start using your robotic lawnmower without any problems. Enjoy your perfectly manicured lawn while the robotic lawnmower does the hard work!
